City edge five-goal thriller
Brechin came from behind to beat Alloa 3-2 in a topsy-turvy game at Glebe Park.
The hosts took the lead in the fourth minute when David McKenna tapped home from 10 yards out.
Alloa striker Kevin Cawley levelled things up in the 17th minute, scoring from the left side of the box.
Brechin were given a penalty in the 34th minute when Daryll Meggatt was judged to have handled in the area, but McKenna's spot-kick was saved by Scott Bain.
Athletic won a penalty of their own four minutes later when Gerard McLauchlan fouled Nicky Low and Ryan McCord made no mistake from the spot to give the visitors a 2-1 lead going into the break.
Alan Trouten drew Brechin level five minutes after the restart when he found the bottom corner from 12 yards out before Andrew Jackson scored the winner from 18 yards in the 83rd minute.
