Dougie Hill heads leaders Brechin to victory over Airdrie
Dougie Hill scored the winner as leaders Brechin made it four wins from five Ladbrokes League One games with a 3-2 victory over Airdrie.
Winger Ally Love put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute, converting into the bottom right corner from close range after Diamonds goalkeeper Rohan Ferguson had saved Ross Caldwell's initial effort.
Brechin lost goalkeeper Graeme Smith to injury just after the half hour mark and the visitors were soon level as Andy Ryan sprung the offside trap to lob substitute Patrick O'Neil from the edge of the area 11 minutes before the break.
Striker Andrew Jackson slotted in Willie Dyer's cross at the back post to put Brechin back in front in the 68th minute but Scott Stewart nodded in Adam Brown's free-kick to restore parity for a second time three minutes later.
The home side were not to be denied the three points, though, and defender Hill headed Love's ball into the bottom right corner with 12 minutes remaining.
