ONES TO WATCH:
Dene Shields- Dick Campbell brought Dene to Brechin last summer, and netted a goal in a 3-1 win over Stirling Albion in a friendly. But Shields couldn't force his way into the first team squad so he was loaned out to Cowdenbeath, where he finished top scorer for them despite missing half of the season. His pace and deadly finishing makes him one to watch.

Bryan Gilfillan- As we signed Davie White and Craig Winter from Cowdenbeath, while Ayr United signed Graeme Browne, it makes it hard to name another key player for Cowdenbeath. However, Bryan Gilfillan has been scoring a few goals recently and netted against Queens Park in the league opener.

BCA'S PREDICTION
A couple of years ago in the second division, Cowdenbeath were struggling at the bottom of the table while Brechin were sitting in mid-table. Brechin drew 0-0 with Cowden at home but defeated them 1-0 at Central Park. Brechin were then starting to grind out results are were pushing up the table, but that didn't stop Cowdenbeath thrashing us 7-5 in a thrilling game at Glebe Park. Brechin then lost 1-0 to the Blue Brazil near the end of the season. Brechin finished in 2nd place as you should already know and Cowdenbeath were relegated, and haven't returned to the 2nd division since.

Brechin have by far the stronger squad, and also have the advantage of being a division higher and playing at home. Cowdenbeath have lost key players in recent years, so it should be a comfortable victory.

Brechin City 2-0 Cowdenbeath
