Dale Hilson scored his third goal of the season as Forfar secured their Second Division play-off place with a 1-0 win over 10-man Brechin. The 18-year-old striker on loan from Dundee United neatly converted Ross Campbell's dangerous cross from the left wing in the 58th minute.

Brechin had David McKenna dismissed for a professional foul after only 25 minutes, but still created chances.

Goalkeeper Neil Duffy was the Forfar hero with several fine saves.

With Brechin's slump continuing, they find themselves only three points ahead of East Fife in the race for the final play-off place after seven games without a win.
